Overview

The Carle Illinois College of Medicine is a 4-year MD-granting program that welcomed its inaugural class in 2018. Carle Illinois College of Medicine is the first medical school that exists at the intersection of engineering and medicine. The goal is to create both physician-innovators and physician-leaders who become creative problem-solvers and lifelong learners. The College of Medicine also utilizes IDEA (Innovation, Design, Engineering, and Analysis) projects to improve healthcare. During fourth year, one IDEA project will be selected as a capstone project.
