Overview

The University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine is a 4-year MD-granting program that welcomed its first class in 1822. It is the seventh oldest medical school in the U.S. Recently, the Larner College of Medicine has switched to the Vermont Integrated Curriculum and is in the transition to 100% active learning. The curriculum is delivered through different modes of learning such as team-based, case-based, problem-based, workships, integrative, and elearning Modules. Many students are engaged in the community through different avenues including the Community Med School, which is a public lecture series.

Our mission at The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont is to educate a diverse group of dedicated physicians and biomedical scientists to serve across all the disciplines of medicine; to bring hope to patients by advancing medical knowledge through research; to integrate education and research to advance the quality and accessibility of patient care; and to engage with our communities to benefit Vermont and the world.
