Highlight & Takeaways

Session 50

What’s the first thing you should look for in an MCAT test prep company? Hint: It’s not the price! Here are some tips on finding quality test prep.

[00:50] What Online Course to Take

I personally recommend Blueprint MCAT (formerly Next Step Test Prep). I’ve done The MCAT Podcast with them for so many years. I’ve recommended their practice tests and tutoring for a long time. When they came out with their course, they gave me access to it so I can review it.

[01:18] Why Blueprint MCAT (formerly Next Step Test Prep)

Although it’s the best option out there, financially; this should not be the only reason why you look at a test prep company.

First off, they have an amazing reputation. Blueprint MCAT (formerly Next Step Test Prep) has been giving MCAT one-on-one tutoring to students for a long time.

Next Step’s full-length exams are the second best, next to the AAMC full-length exams. When you buy the course from Next Step, get access to all 10 of their full-length exams plus two diagnostic exams.

You can also get access to their books which they just revamped. They’re much more improved now.

With the course, you get access to all the AAMC materials. You get all three full-lengths, the QBank, and the unscored exam.

Gets tons of hours of videos. They’re PowerPoint presentations where you also get to see the tutor up in the corner. So it’s like you’re getting a one-on-one presentation on your computer screen.

Blueprint MCAT (formerly Next Step Test Prep) features a Schedule Creator. Upon logging in and with a few clicks of the button, it creates a schedule for you. When you fall off that schedule, you can just click and drag staff around and adjust on the fly.

No other course has that, at least right now. You can get it through third-party services but it’s not integrated into the content as how Next Step does it.

Get live office hours five days a week.

[06:05] Course Fees

The price just went up to $1,599. Get $50 off by using the promo code MSHQ. Their course is actually almost a thousand dollars cheaper than other companies.

Thank you for the info! Knowing if you have advisor preferences and who they are helps us make sure we have the proper resources to take care of every student who wants to work with us! This is not your official selection. After you sign up, you'll be sent a form to fill out!

Every one of our advisors were hand-picked by Dr. Gray and are all experts dedicated to helping you get into medical school. When you sign up, you'll receive an email to complete your official request about who you prefer and who might be a good fit. After you fill out that form, we'll get you set up!

Right now, Carlos Tapia, former Director of Admissions at TCU and former Director of Student Affairs at Icahn Mount Sinai, and Courtney Lewis, former Director of Admissions at Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine are the two advisor who have remaining availability. Both are experts at helping their students get into great medical schools across the country, both MD and DO! Dr. Crispen and Deana Golini are available on a case-by-case basis for 20-hour package students.
