The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine-Louisiana Campus is a 4-year DO granting program that welcomed its first class in 2020. The Louisiana Campus is a partnership between VCOM and the University of Louisiana Monroe. Using the successful partnership between VCOM and Virginia Tech, VCOM-Louisiana follows a similar partnership. VCOM is one of the nation's largest medical schools matriculating 625 students across the Virginia, Auburn, Carolina, and Louisiana campuses. VCOM-Louisiana has an emphasis on serving southeastern United States with their primary focus being on rural and underserved communities.
Mission
The MISSION of the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) is to prepare globally-minded, community-focused physicians to meet the needs of rural and medically underserved populations and promote research to improve human health.
