The Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo is a 4-year MD-granting program that welcomed its first class in 1847. At the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, students have the opportunity to learn in a collaborative, welcoming environment, serving multiple communities and training in a variety of healthcare settings. The school offers student government, national organizations, professional interest groups, special interest groups, and medical clinics. Jacobs has multiple summer research programs and ongoing mentored research starting your first year for those who choose to pursue it. Students first take the basic sciences and then move into organ systems. Students at Jacobs also begin to see patients within the second month of medical school.
