About Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin

Overview

The Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin is a 4-year MD-granting program that welcomed its inaugural class in 2016. Dell Medical School hopes to educate and train doctors who are comfortable taking on the challenges of healthcare while taking care of patients. The Leading EDGE curriculum is divided into Essentials, Discovery, Growth, Exploration. Students start clerkships during second year, which is earlier than most medical schools. The Growth phase allows students to gain experiences in their personal areas of interest. Throughout the four years, courses in Clinical Skills, Interprofessional Education, and Leadership are integrated into the curriculum. Students have access to a Tier-1 research university if they are interested in pursuing research opportunities.
