Overview
The University of North Texas Health Science Center Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine is a 4-year DO-granting program that welcomed its inaugural class in 1970. UNTHSC College of Osteopathic Medicine has an emphasis on primary care and rural medicine. Over 60 percent of their students enter into primary care. They have an innovative curriculum where, within the first year, students are placed in one of four primary care clinics. Students also have the opportunity to do international rotations in Malawi, Russia, or Thailand. TCOM has a unique food pantry program that is an anonymous program for students struggling with food insecurity.
