The Medical College of Wisconsin is a 4-year MD-granting program that traces its roots back to 1893. MCW was the first medical school in the state of Wisconsin and has three different campuses for students to choose from. Milwaukee offers a four-year curriculum, while Green Bay and Central Wisconsin offer three-year curricula. All students attending MCW follow the Discovery Curriculum, and all students are required to complete a Scholarly Pathways project. Students have the opportunity to participate in over fifty student organizations and receive personalized support through career services.

The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is a 4-year MD-granting program that began as a two-year medical school in 1907 and became a four-year medical school in 1925. The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health offers a TRIUMPH (Training in Urban Medicine and Public Health) Program and a WARM (Wisconsin Academy for Rural Medicine) Program. The ForWard Curriculum is a competency-based curriculum that has 10 important themes spanning the curriculum. Students receive longitudinal coaching and work through Patient Centered Education Cases. The campuses span across the state with locations in Milwaukee, Marshfield, Green Bay, and La Crosse. There are multiple community service programs, and students participate in student-run free clinics.
