Albany Medical College Review

About Albany Medical College

Overview

Albany Medical College is a 4-year MD-granting program that welcomed its first class in 1839. Albany Medical College follows the traditional structure of two preclinical years followed by two clinical years. There is a longitudinal course throughout the curriculum that addresses current issues in medicine and problems with the US healthcare system. In addition, Albany Med students must complete a service-learning requirement before they graduate. Students participate in clinical work at the Albany Medical Center, VA Medical Center, Psychiatric Center, and other ambulatory and hospital sites.

We are committed to improving health by attaining the highest standard of quality in care delivery, education, and research initiatives.

As an academic medical system, we will deliver the best possible experience for all patients wherever we interact with them. We will foster teaching, learning and discovery, fiscal responsibility, and adaptability to change.
