CUNY School of Medicine Review
Overview
The CUNY School of Medicine/Sophie Davis Biomedical Education Program is a 7-year BS/MD program that welcomed its first class in 2016. The BS/MD program is committed to increasing the number of primary-care physicians while addressing the shortage of African-American, Hispanic, and underrepresented primary-care physicians and those that serve inner-city areas. This past year, 53 percent of students in the entering class were from underrepresented populations. Students can partake in many clubs, and many students choose to live in on-campus housing. The program provides a Learning Resource Center, advising and mentoring, and an anonymous mistreatment form.
