University of Cincinnati College of Medicine Review

About University of Cincinnati College of Medicine

Overview

The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is a 4-year MD-granting program that traces its roots back to the Medical College of Ohio, which welcomed its first class in 1819. The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is the second-oldest public medical school in the US. University of Cincinnati works to create a culture with “heart” as the guiding principle. Students say they feel exposed to a variety of patients, prepared to do well on their board exams, and supported by their classmates. During the first year, students are paired with a primary-care physician to begin working on clinical skills. Students at UCCOM for the past three years have surpassed both the national pass rate and national mean for USMLE Step 1 scores. Students follow a prep series for their boards, followed by a student-led board review course, and then individual prep time.

Our mission is to improve health for all through:

Personalized care embracing best clinical practices
Innovative interdisciplinary research
Premier clinical and scientific training
Creative community partnerships

Through collaboration and innovation, we will be the leader in improving the health of our local and global community.
