Michigan State University College of Human Medicine is a 4-year MD-granting program that welcomed its first class in 1966. The College of Human Medicine is a community-based medical school that offers seven clinical campuses with the two main campuses being in East Lansing and Grand Rapids. The College of Human Medicine splits students into learning societies of about 8-10 students with a lead faculty member to help students develop a learning plan. The Shared Discovery Curriculum includes early clinical experience (6 weeks in), middle clinical experience (year 2), and late clinical experience (year 3 and 4). Between clinical experiences, they have intersessions (core, foundational, special).
