Overview
The Temple University Lewis Katz School of Medicine is a 4-year MD-granting program that welcomed its first class in 1901. Students at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine begin with the basic sciences and then move into learning by organ system. The School of Medicine has multiple clinical partnerships where students can do clinical rotations. These include the Temple Health System, Jeanes Hospital, Fox Chase, and others. At Lewis Katz, students have the opportunity to participate in both basic and clinical research. Student groups at Lewis Katz include student government, community service, religious groups, interest groups, and many others. Students are encouraged to start their own clubs, as well.
