Overview
Boston University School of Medicine is a 4-year MD-granting program that traces its roots back to the Boston Female Medical College, which welcomed its first class in 1848. The Boston Female Medical College merged officially in 1874 with Boston University. The School of Medicine values a warm, welcoming environment at their university. Strong collaborative relationships are established between students. Strong collegial relationships are also emphasized between faculty and students. The Boston Medical Center is the primary teaching hospital, home to the busiest Emergency Department in the Northeast.
