The University of California Irvine School of Medicine is a 4-year MD-granting program that traces its roots back to the Pacific Sanitarium and School of Osteopathic Medicine. It became the University of California Irvine School of Medicine in 1967. UCI is home to the UC Irvine Medical Center, which is an adult level I trauma center and level II pediatric trauma center.
