Two-Week Personal Statement Challenge
Write a personal statement draft that actually sounds like you in two weeks, one day at a time.
Your personal statement is the one place in your application where admissions committees get to meet you, not your GPA, not your MCAT score, not your extracurriculars. Just you.
What's the Personal Statement Challenge?
The Challenge
A free, email-based challenge designed to walk you through every step of the brainstorming and writing process, so that by the end of two weeks, you have a complete draft you’re actually proud of.
No fluff. No vague advice. Just clear, daily lessons and writing prompts that move you forward.
This Challenge Is for You If…
- You don’t know where to start and every approach you’ve tried has led to a blank page
- You have a draft, but it feels generic — like it could belong to any pre-med student
- You want to make a strong first impression on admissions committees from the very first line
- You’re in the middle of your application cycle and need a clear, structured path forward
What You'll Get
Each day, you’ll receive a short lesson and a focused writing prompt delivered straight to your inbox. By the end of the challenge, you’ll have worked through every major component of your personal statement, from finding your story to writing your opening line to tying it all together.
Here’s what the challenge covers:
Week 1: Brainstorm and Discover Dig into your experiences, identify the moments that shaped your path to medicine, and figure out what your statement is actually about. This is where the real work — and the real breakthroughs — happen.
Week 2: Write and Refine Turn your ideas into a full draft. Each prompt builds on the last, so by Day 14, you’re not starting from scratch — you’re finishing strong.
Why It Works
Most personal statement advice tells you what to write. This challenge shows you how to write it by breaking the process down into small, manageable steps that build on each other every single day.
You don’t need to find a two-hour block to sit down and write. You just need to show up for today’s prompt.
