Sam Latzman

MCAT Faculty

Sam is passionate about helping students grow both academically and personally, and his favorite part of teaching is watching that progression unfold as students build confidence and achieve their goals. He understands that preparing for the MCAT can feel overwhelming, which is why he encourages students to be kind to themselves—taking breaks, resetting when needed, and trusting that the process will come together.

His top advice for students is to focus less on perfection and more on developing strong critical thinking skills. Sam emphasizes that true preparation isn’t about memorizing every detail, but about staying mentally flexible and using what you do know to work through what you don’t. If he were to prepare for the MCAT again, he would spend less time stressing and more time trusting his ability to adapt and problem-solve.

Sam is known for helping students reach “aha” moments by breaking down complex concepts into their simplest form. By zooming out and focusing on the big picture, he helps students build a deeper, more lasting understanding.

Outside of tutoring, Sam enjoys traveling, working out, and playing basketball—anything that keeps him active and energized.
