Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport is a 4-year MD-granting program that welcomed its inaugural class in 1969. The School of Medicine has a commitment to impact the region and beyond. There are multiple scholarship opportunities for students to help offset the costs of their medical education. The primary mission of Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center at Shreveport (LSUHSC-S) is to teach, heal, and discover, in order to advance the well being of the region and beyond.
