The University of South Alabama (USA) College of Medicine is a 4-year MD-granting program that enrolled the first class in 1973. Students complete their first two years on the main campus in the Medical Sciences Building. Their clinical training is completed within the USA Health System Hospitals (University Hospital, USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital), other USA Health clinics, and in the community. 33 percent of Mobile’s physicians have been educated at USA College of Medicine.
