The Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine is a 5-year MD-granting program that matriculated its first class in 2004. The Lerner College of Medicine is a partnership between the Cleveland Clinic and Case Western Reserve University with a specific mission to educate and train physician-investigators. The College of Medicine is centered around self-directed learning to develop these skills. Admitted students are paired with both a physician advisor and a research advisor. The mission of the CCLCM is "to educate a limited number of highly qualified persons who seek to become physician investigators and scientists committed to the advancement of biomedical research and clinical practice."
