Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine is a 4-year DO-granting program that welcomed its first class in 1976. Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine was founded to help with Ohio’s family physician shortage. The Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine has three different campuses for students to study at. The Athens campus exposes students to the needs of rural populations. The Cleveland Campus involves students in the Cleveland Clinic system. The Dublin campus is home to the OhioHealth Dublin Methodist Hospital. Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine is dedicated to community health, and their students participate in more than 4,500 volunteer hours in a variety of settings. All students are enrolled in a Health and Wellness Curriculum for all four years to integrate wellness into their lives and future patient care.

We pride ourselves on our strong focus on our mission: training osteopathic primary care physicians to serve Ohio.
Our medical school educates physicians committed to practice in Ohio, emphasizes primary care, engages in focused research, and embraces both Appalachian and urban communities. Integral to this mission, our college community commits itself to: provide a clinically integrated, learning-centered, osteopathic medical education continuum for students, interns, residents and primary care associates; embrace diversity and public service; and improve the health and well-being of underserved populations.
