Ponce School of Medicine Review

Overview
The Ponce School of Medicine is a 4-year MD-granting program that welcomed their charter class in 1981. Ponce has a traditional curriculum, with the first two years being pre-clinical, focused on the basic sciences. Third- and fourth-year students complete clerkships and electives before graduating. Students can participate in over 30 student organizations on the Ponce Health Sciences Campus. Students also take part in community initiatives and activities.
Mission
To educate bilingual ethical professionals who provide compassionate, culturally competent health care and generate high impact research to reduce health disparities in the populations we serve in Puerto Rico and the US, through high quality education in a diverse environment.
