Indiana University School of Medicine is a 4-year MD-granting program that educates more medical students each year than any other school in the United States. The School of Medicine offers students nine different campuses throughout the state of Indiana to receive their medical education. Campus placement is decided through a computer lottery system based on applicant rankings and campus availability. Indiana University School of Medicine is a leader in Alzheimer’s research, developed a cure for testicular cancer, and created an effective response to HIV and AIDS in Africa. More than 50 percent of physicians trained at Indiana University practice in the state of Indiana.

Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine is a 4-year DO-granting program that welcomed its first class in 2013. It is the second medical school in the state of Indiana, and the curriculum is integrated and learner-centered. MU-COM offers students a team-based approach to medical training by offering an interprofessional education. The College of Osteopathic Medicine has many organizations to help students grow personally, professionally, socially, and spiritually. They have over 40 organizations that give students the ability to work with the community.
